Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

Designing a flat file (no database CMS) for instructors to use for their instructor sites at school. Right now instructors can FTP up files and most the sites look real bad. Next semester I will have a class based on coding it. (A project class). Flat file as IT does not want to add Mysql databases ...

Re: Off to school

Congrats, My experiences with Bible school was it was a time that God - takes you apart emotionally/spiritually and puts you back together, the most stuff that is supposed to go that you hold on to the more times you have to go through it.

Re: Wrong or right?

I know there was a law that stated if you had the word creative in your job description you could be denied overtime as they can't require you to do creativity on a schedule. I think it sucks - I do contact work right now, as it's what I can get while going back to school, I know people that work 2 ...

Re: Give your examples of evil works short term - good long term

I think the MOO2 one is, stealing tech versus researching. In life it's more apparent. Bad choices set things in motion, open you up to risks, Steal you can get shot, however in a game that means you just restart. The problem is not that sin does not have consequences, but in a game restarting fixes...

Most Scared I have been in my life

This is such a long story - alot of it I should not go into. It involves my unemployment, and being pressured to lie/defraud unemployment - which I did not do, and the fact that I suspect they will investigate, find not enough evidence and I will need to be in the same school building until May as t...

Re: Crazy Compass ALGORITHM CHALLENGE

Man ths is hard. I clearly underestimated the hardness of making path finding/AI. I thought it takes maybe 20 minutes, hour at max to make couple of lines of code to make this thing. Now i have spent 4 - 5 hours coding and i have no idea if im even at half way yet. Everytime i get one step done i n...

Re: Crazy Compass ALGORITHM CHALLENGE

I know less than a week. Right now contract work is slow for me. I have some number crunching for my number and have the start of real code - still aways to go. Fun thing is with PHP I could in fact put the pages out there for anyone to look at the results (assuming I do ok)

Re: Crazy Compass ALGORITHM CHALLENGE

I'm in on this one I have four potential contract jobs - waiting on them all and going nuts watching my inbox. So here I have my diversion.

Using php at it appears to be the language I use mostly these days.

Re: Wordpress: How to to show page as main page instead of blog?

Also you might want to google how to remove the comments so it does nit look blogish if you are building a full blown web site with it.

I do that in
jcwp.mikewagman.com (it's a work in progress but I want it to look web pagish instead of blogish)

Re: Discouraged

Part of what we are is physical. There are wonderfully intricate rules to how we work. One of those rules is certain physical conditions affect our mood. See someone and see if you need to be on an antidepressant. I did , one of the best moods I ever made. Romans 8 tells us that creation groans unde...

Re: Dropbox TOS and your rights

And what about "use" If it's just storing data why do they need to use it. I've read up on a fair number of opinions on this - and they may not intend to take stuff but they could. The solution I have suggested lets you store you data in an encrypted folder inside of dropbox, you loose the collabora...
