Re: Turning your passion into a career

Great thread. As you guys know, I'm currently at a graduate school which purpose is to train you, boot camp style, for a job in the mainstream video game industry. I am 2/3 of the way done, so my decision has already been made (I will be turning a passion into video games into a career in the mainst...

Re: Hello There!

Thanks Robin. I'm glad you liked the music.

Heh, coder for me is a loose definition. I've definitely programmed, but the coming 4 months will be a real trial by fire; I'll be modding Call of Duty 4 for my final school project, which will require C++... no more C# training wheels for me! :-)

Re: Chaplain Here

Welcome! So awesome to have a Chaplain and member of our armed forces here. Thanks for keeping us safe, and a double thanks for looking after those who are keeping us safe. The school I go to, The Guildhall @ SMU, has multiple folks who have gone to school directly from military service of some kind...

Re: Another new member

Welcome! I'm brand new here also. You might try a little modding as a way to get started without the task of making your own engine (although I really, really admire those intrepid souls that do this). Unreal Tournament 3 is very moddable, probably the easiest game to mod into another game. Though f...

Re: Hello There!

Yeah, or do what I did for the first 2 years, treat the forums like an IRC... Welcome to CDN! Its nice to see more and more vets coming in... What games have you made? I'm a bit of an RPG fan, and have been making RPGs for a few years. My main commercial accomplishment at this point would still be ...

Hello There!

Hey all, My friend Jason Compton hipped me to this site. I am the guy who composed the music and sounds for The Broken Hourglass, which I cannot *wait* to come out (I know Jason and co. are working very hard on it). I suppose my life story, at least professionally, would be something like this: I st...
