Re: What do you use to make games?

Thanks guys :) Lots of good info here, TheLittleSettler, Thanks for sharing. Unity has done a great job working with indie devs, and I heard it works well with Blender, which I still use for modeling, if i decide to go the 3d route again. And I agree, I think CryEngine and Unreal are both trying to ...

What do you use to make games?

Hello! I haven't been active on the forum much, and I'm just now trying to get back into making games after 4 years. It would be nice to know what you use to make games, weather you code your own from scratch, or buy, and how much it costs. Unity seems to be one of the more expensive engines, but pe...

Re: SpeedGame 2014: July 1st!

Hi, I would like to take part in this again. Here are a few more verses to consider ~Psalm 27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, t...

Re: Speed Art Challenge #3 - 200 points!

Dagur Dragon, Thank you! That's exactly the kind of thing I was looking for! That would have made it much easier. HanClinto, Thanks! The guy was made during the last 12 minutes of the 2 hours. :P I don't know how familiar you are with blender, but if you're interested, he was made by extruding cubes...

Here's my entry http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/4337/bladerender03.jpg The Three Swinging Pendulums of Death!  Made with Blender. Including render times, it took me nearly a complete 2 hours. however I did spend about 15 extra minutes looking for an easier way to make a brick wall, ...

Re: Speed Coder Challenge #5 - 200 Points!

Hey Mene-Mene, good job, what program did you write it in? @Calin, I'm not familiar with Starcraft scripting, but I know python is very easy and fun to use. :geek: @CPUFreak91, I wasn't able to run it, but the code looks cool : ) I should learn c++ too. @HanClinto, unless the robot has a heated comp...

Re: Speed Coder Challenge #5 - 200 Points!

Hi, Here's what I came up with in python. Time: 1hr. 35min. I wasn't sure what was meant exactly by algorithm challenge, did I do this right? It was fun anyway : ) Thanks for the challenge! One run through recorded output: waiting at toaster moving to the table moving to chair 0 taking order chair 0...

Re: Dark-Basic Pro Free

It's free with ads. .. Advertisements in a code editor? Who would click on them? :/ :| I don't recommend using DBPro. The engine isn't terrible, the language is horrible . I agree, the advertising thing is weird, and I've herd professionals programmers say that learning Basic hinders you later on, ...

Re: SpeedGame 2009 Winners

Good job everybody!
and congratulations to the winners!

Edit:
I learned not to waste time on graphics but focus on gameplay and story first, which is more important in any game not just Christian based games.

And the winners pretty much proved that! :)

My younger brother and I are making a game using Blender 3d, We missed the design phase so we're a little behind schedule, But we'll give it our best shot. It will be a short adventure game, we're going to try and keep it simple becaus...
