Re: Major Studio Game Dev Contracts -- Humm...

I read the study this article sources. Yea, it's pretty awful. Game devs are getting horribly maligned by their bosses these days. The falling out has already started, with major names from sony and the like jumping ship for indie development. (http://icanhazspam.blogspot.com/2011/09/on-tip-of-our-t...

Re: My entirely-Un-Comprehensive-Barely-Legible Thesis on Games

Ok, so what you're saying is that nothing is inherently wrong with social games. I get that. That's why I said so-called "social games". Nothing's wrong with social games, in fact I think they can be quite fun (I'd use uber-strike as an example). And in regards to the testing thing, I'm persuadable ...

Re: My entirely-Un-Comprehensive-Barely-Legible Thesis on Games

Thanks for all you said. I think your right, actually, on several points and will use it to refine my paper. I didn't write it for school (though it's going to be mighty handy come mid-terms). I learn thins by talking out loud, and thanks for pointing out some of the contradictions. Jonathan Blow is...

Re: Target="_blank"

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but personally I despise websites that force links into new windows. Since it's so easy to do it myself (just use the middle mouse button to open the link, or hold down Cmd on a Mac) I much prefer being given the freedom to choose for myself, rather th...

Re: Target="_blank"

Actually that issue was pointed out earlier too, and should also have been fixed. At least when i click on one of the links on messages it opens to a new window. What browser are you using? That's weird. It wasn't working a second ago, and now it is. Chrome, for the record. Sorry to bug everybody.

Target="_blank"

Hello, just wanted to point this out. I'm a web guy, and being a web guy certain things about websites irk me. I can't help pointing them out. So whomever's the fixer-upper around here, just thought I'd point this out. None of the external links here open in new tabs. I know I can just right click -...

Re: Give your examples of evil works short term - good long term

I think all these examples aren't really promoting morality. The initial comment was great, but I think all these examples are just "do the 'good' thing, you get a reward for it". It's a difficult issue, because why in the world would you do the right thing in a video game for no reward when they ar...

Re: Christian Video Games with engaging stories

The big knock on me is i like to have very detailed ideas and plans thought out first. and many people are like that is not necessary. then naturally wonder why there game goes over very average? you need to think games out first or why make one at all. it is however the right formula, it took geor...

Re: Welcome, self!

Dude, I gotta say kudos to the Bionicle avatar. Bionicle rocks. And welcome. Is that what it is? I just thought it looked cool :) I'm kidding of course, my all-time favorite adventure game is MNOGI; one of the very first games I ever played. Man, I'm compulsive about BIONICLE (2001-2007, that is. I...

Re: Welcome, self!

I don't have much of an outlet for what I love. I've wanted to make video games ever since I was old enough to play Pajama Sam Or you have a 22 year old laughing because he played Pajama Sam as well! (havarti?) Oh shoot, I sat down to give the correct reply and I can't remember it! I can't even thi...

Welcome, self!

I'd like to be the first to say welcome to myself. I'm happy to have me here and look forward to getting to know me in the future. But seriously. I made an account about 4 months ago and totally forgot about it. then I stumbled on it again while reading the Old Testament Adventures blog. So... hello...
