What happened to Xrucifix?

Christian Gaming came up in a recent discussion, so I was looking for the Xrucifix site, but nothing was coming up. Just footprints of a site that once was.

Is everything alright with it? Mack, are you still working on your game?
Even with my dead atheist soul, I'm still excited for it.

Re: a Kissing game

Yeah, that was awful. Women are perfectly capable of enjoying... well, normal games. Because, you know, they are people. It doesn't have to be so patronizingly laced in pink and about "romance." We play games because we enjoy challenges, solving puzzles, achieving "goals", playin...

Re: How important is it to reduce the number of lines in code?

Reducing lines of code for the sake of reducing lines of code is inane and counter-effective. Now, I've seen my fair share of code monstrosities. Functions spanning over 1k lines. Pages over 10k. It's pretty bad, but the problem isn't the amount of lines, it's the poor architecture. That code needs ...

Re: Old, Uncommon or Obscure Christian Games (Add Yours to List)

N'Ligntening did, imo, some of the best christian games out there. I have many fond memories with Catechumen and Ominous Horizons. Don't forget to grab Shadows of Light . This one's another must grab for the Christian Game Connoisseur. It's a fun, fast paced shooter (Quake 1/2 era) that isn't cheesy...

Re: Working on Morally Questionable Media

Clint, how do you feel about the project? I get the sense you aren't hot about it, but does it violate your conscious? Make you feel uncomfortable? Something you would be embarrassed to talk about? Something to shrug one's shoulder at? Would it keep nagging at you if you worked on it? Also, how much...

Re: Acctually reading the Bible

Misquoting, you say? I'll just straight up quote you. jerimiah is a nice area to read, it talks of how he will enslave, drive off, and slaughter off the corrupters and wicked people Or maybe its ok for dictators to slaughter there own people and do as they say. even though the bible clearly states w...

Re: The Emotional Price of Making Video Games

It was, thanks for the share.

"Indie Game: the Movie" was a really good luck on that side of game development, following the guys who made Super Meat Boy, Fez, and Braid. I recommended to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Re: Are there any moral ramifications of playing certain games?

How about the more interested flipside? Can gaming not only be acceptable, but moral, as in that it makes you a better person? On this, I will answer with a resounding yes. And I'm not talking in the sense that gaming introduces many young people into careers in technology (myself included), but tha...

I don't mean to derail this thread further, so this will be the last post here I make on this, but I do want to publicly apologize for any personal attacks or insults I made towards SamGB or on any others on this thread. I could have just as easily and assertively made my point without them and it w...

Re: The Lion

Sam's preaching nonsense and there's no opening for rational discourse here at all. He believes this swill because he wants to, not because he was led to it my evidence. Yes, I wasn't civil, nor did I intend to be. I'm not going to enable this sort of arrogant preaching based on complete ignorance. ...

Re: The Lion

C.S. Lewis believed in Taoism as you can discover by reading The Abolition of Man (btw it looks really boring). He believed it to be a universal umbrella that includes all religions including his version of christianity. Taoism meaning 'the path' teaches the Yin-Yang principle: balance or harmony c...
