Re: SpeedArt Story Challenge #1!

Very nice, and it was interesting to watch the video. What software do you use to capture/edit it?

@bugala: Hmm, it's doing the same thing for me. I must have broken the page when I put up the bugfixed version. I'll try to fix it later this evening.

Ok, finally found time to do it. Took about an hour and 45 minutes.

Re: Speed Coder #16

Well, I tried. Things went quite smoothly for the first hour, but as I implemented the combat mechanics around the 1:20 mark I ran into a bunch of duplication bugs that crippled me for the rest of the time. Next time I'll be more careful about what is an object and what is a reference. At the 2 hour...

Treecleaver's Space Command http://treecleaver.com/spacecommandsm.png This is my only relatively playable game thus far. It's a simple flash fighter combat game. You pilot your ship against endless waves of enemy fighters who attack your five space stations. Click to fire laser, control+click to la...

Re: Speed Coder Challenge #15 (The Warmup)

Finished. i should get a bonus for using my speed art challenge entry from speed art #11 :D. I was interrupted partway through, so although this only took about two hours of dev time I had a couple hours in the middle when I was doing other stuff. Basically the goal is to get your spacecraft to the...

Yes, green always goes first. We scored the competition in two-game matches, with the algorithm that won by the largest margin winning if the same algorithm didn't win both games.

And it's finished. You can pit any of the AI algorithms my classmates wrote against each other, and also play against them yourself.

Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

Currently working on debugging and compiling an applet to run all the algorithms for playing Mancala that my classmates in Game Theory have submitted. We're announcing the winner tomorrow. It's great fun to see the stuff these people have come up with.

Re: Speed Art Challenge #11

I used a plugin I have for Paint.NET that distorts an image to the graph of a 3d function. I don't remember the exact function I used, but it was something like z = (1-(x/3)^2)*(1-(y/3)^2).
