Re: Contest: How Can Gaming Improve the World?

I know the feeling about work...I've been so busy I forgot to complete the contest this past weekend. In the middle of launching a new business and training employees so I expect things to stay hectic for a while. Stinks because it leaves me no time for blogging on ICE.

Re: Contest: How Can Gaming Improve the World?

I haven't received any email entries...did they get lost, perhaps? I already told LittleSettler he won but if you guys send in entries by this weekend I'll judge them and send the prize out. Otherwise he's won by default.

Re: Contest: How Can Gaming Improve the World?

So far TheLittleSettler has been the only one to enter the contest. Is anyone else interested? I'll give everyone a week but if I receive no responses he's the winner by default.

Contest: How Can Gaming Improve the World?

How Can Gaming Improve the World? To celebrate the release of Adam's Venture: Solomon's Secret I will be giving out a copy of the first episode, The Search for the Lost Garden. To win all you have to do is write a 500+ word essay describing how you think gaming can, or has, improved the world. The ...

Re: in-game ads

From what I've read In-Game ads have largely been a financial failture but DLCs and in-game purchases work very well.

Re: Christian Video Games and Morality... bad?

I agree with Andy. But to me "preaching in a game" refers to a design choice/approach. Even Jesus more often used story forms to convince rather than outright preaching, which was more John the Baptist's style.

Re: Released Christian games website

If you're running out of games to talk about check out http://www.cgnow.com . I run a blog/shop myself with www.icepowered.com and since there are not regular news updates specifically related to Christian gaming I instead talk about all games in relation to a Christian worldview.

Re: Boot time

I'm curious if anyone has upgraded a laptop to a fast(or suppose to be bast anyway) solid state drive? just curious how much boot and loading time of apps/games dropped for anyone? Personally, I'd love to drop the new 2.5" VelicoRaptor WD6000HLHX drive into a laptop. It smokes all the 3.5"...

Re: Health care bill: Good or bad?

To start I'll say that I'm in favor of a hybrid option. My full rant on that subject is on ICE: m Short version is that I believe that government should increase our voluntary choice of options instead of enforcing only one option. I read the old/original bill (the one with the public option) in its...

YaHero Dev Interview

YaHero is a Flash-based online game targeting the tween demographic. We had chance to play around in the world last week. This week we had a chance to catch up with Communications Director for YaHero, Marta LoFranco. http://www.icepowered.com/images/stories/games/yahero_world.jpg ICE: What was the i...

Re: YaHero Christian MMO

As for target demographic I think they need to get on social networks as an app...fast. Considering everything is already Flash-based I don't think it'd be that hard at all. So far the gameplay seems like it'd be more appealing to casual gamers. FarmVille, which I personally have zero interest in, a...

YaHero Christian MMO

YaHero is a Flash-based online game targeting the tween demographic. In the developers own words it "is the only massive multiplayer online game (MMOG) that is Bible based and supportive of a Christian world view. And, unlike other religious sites for kids, we do not promote a particular denomi...

Site did not load properly for me using Firefox 3.5.5 and IE 8. Saw a loading bar but the screen goes black after it finishes. Is it down now? Also, while I don't want to rain on your parade, or be mean-spirited, there was a similar site called christiangamer.com that just launched. So I'll just rep...

Re: Intelligent Design vs. Chance Creation

Is it possible that some dinosaur species may have survived? I don't know, but it's plausible. After all, alligators and crocodiles lived alongside the dinosaurs and some even call them modern dinosaurs. There are other examples of creatures that were thought to be long extinct yet were found to be ...
