Lowpoly Human Model

I've been trying my hand at human modeling lately. This is the 4th major revision of my human model. I'm aiming for low-poly, similar to an MMO-style poly budget. This model comes in between 900 and 1000 faces. Please comment and critique! [thumb=med]http://www.gamebrewers.com/stuff/solid3.jpg[/thum...

Re: Me and Knight-Storm

Ok, I have a couple quick thoughts about races. I have thought about this myself in the past. If you want all races to stem from one, the "basic" solution is evolution...macroevolution. I don't want to get into details, but macroevolution is often difficult to fit into a Christian worldview (some Ch...

Re: How to Disable autokeys?

I highly doubt there is a way to "disable everything but X." I think when I Googled your problem, a solution came up for Mac.

I would write this program for you but right now I'm on a missions trip in Germany. If you are willing to wait a couple weeks I can probably write it.

Re: Is this code hackable?

Right, great info...I tried out CheatEngine as HanClinto suggested, and it's true, nothing's truly secure. Honestly, that's why I like making multiplayer games better than singleplayer games - they can be a lot harder to hack in a many cases, because the server has final say. Plus if there's a hacke...

Re: Is this code hackable?

All that to say, if someone is running a tool like CE, it won't necessarily matter if you included that stub function in there or not, as it's relatively trivial to write your own subroutine that would do the equivalent, and modify your running code to include that. ] A very good point. Just FYI I'...

Re: Is this code hackable?

Ok, cool, thanks for the replies. I would obviously avoid putting a function like that in an application anyway, but it's a good thing to know.

Is this code hackable?

Suppose I have the following code: int main() { playLevelOne(); playLevelTwo(); playLevelThree(); return 0; } void cheat() // <-- NEVER called in application { skipToLevelThree(); } ... cheat() is never called in my application. Would a hacker be able to somehow execute the function? is cheat() ever...

I love this set, definitely your best. So, I really like a lot of your jokes. Your jokes are funny and new and I think they'd work great if (yes, this sounds cliche) you tell a story with them. In this case, you talked a lot about jobs and making money. I think you could start with something about l...

have you tried

Code: Select all

std::string abc = std::string(aCharArray, 20);

std::string anotherExample = std::string(aStdString.c_str(), 20);
? Just curious.

Re: Woot! Anyone here develop in Java / JS?

I used Java for quite a while, but I use C++ now. I know enough JavaScript to make a dynamic web page, but not beyond that.

I have looked into programming for Facebook but it just never appealed to me very much. There seemed to be a lot of rules to follow.

5 engines - mmo, physics, "randomizer," 2D, and networking.

I've used the 2D engine in a finished game, but that's it.

Just a suggestion...you put a lot of pictures in your posts, any chance they could be in spoiler tags? This thread takes a long time to load every time I visit.

Re: are you using Widescreen or 4:3 monitor when playing games?

I play in 16:9 only because that's my laptop's resolution. Our family has an expensive tower that's more geared towards gaming and high performance. It has a 4:3 Dell monitor I got at a yard sale. I know what you mean about being hard to find, it seems like everyone just wants to watch movies anymor...

I would definitely say HTML. Use multiple frames to allow for easy navigation, and then you can style the guide however you want with CSS.

Re: Left Behind Games and Digital Praise, Announce Merger

Yeah, DP's got some people and/or technologies that LB could use, and LB has the capital and the publicity. At least that's the way I see it.

Their first game had better be successful though, or both companies might regret the merger.
