Re: New Free download, Base Model female.

I think he means "better safe than sorry". Some may find the images offensive, others not. To be completely beyond reproach the images should be in spoiler tags to avoid accidental viewing by someone who doesn't want to see them.

is that what you meant Jet?

Re: Selling 3d models

Well, it has the most downloads (about 90 I think), but I don't make anything off it 'cuz it's free. The Wii has the highest ratio of purchases to views of all of my products - no surprise since I spent the most time on it of all the models by far. It seems to be that technology, architecture, and w...

Re: Selling 3d models

I use turbosquid. If you sign up to sell exclusively through them you get better royalties and special data views (like most searched items). I can't pretend that I've made a lot of money doing it, about 100 bucks in 5 years, but then again I haven't worked on it very seriously. You can see my work ...

Re: Short Stories From Soma Games

Hey, this may not be the best place to put this, but I just bought G for my new iTouch and love it. I like the way you can choose your own method to beating a level and the story is intriguing so far. Great game!

Re: a really BIG MMORPG idea--as big as I can make it

Hey, this is a cool game idea, but I feel that it could easily get "bloated" and hard to work with. I mean, reading the description this didn't even feel like one game. I think it would be hard to keep continuity through the game, but if you could pull it off it would be awesome.

Re: Favorite parts of Development

My favorite part of development is using a scripting system that you made yourself, and AI programming, which can be the same thing at times. I also enjoy refactoring and organizing code. I'm an absolute neat freak :P

Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

Although extremely busy with normal life, I've been working on network programming and trying to complete a very small game. This time I'm going for a polished small game instead of a big ugly one like some of my previous projects.

Re: Forum names

My forum's name came to me our of the blue, and I immediately knew it was the right one. I was looking for a domain name that wasn't taken, and suddenly this name popped into my head: GameBrewers. I program games using Java, which is also a kind of coffee. Quirky, catchy, and descriptive. It sort of...

On the "developer FAQ" (under "additional resources") it specifically says that you can develop from Windows: " What operating systems are supported for authoring iPhone content using Flash? iPhone application development will be supported on operating systems supported by Adobe Flash Professional C...

Re: Community Project: Developers

So just to make sure, what will I be programming? Should I set up the framework for the three calls outlined above? I'm a bit unclear as to what my job actually is. "Make all the dialogs" isn't very descriptive as far as where to start typing code.

Re: EVAC-CITY

I think the sniper can go through multiple enemies hitting them all, right? I found the game kind of tough because I was trying to get somewhere, but aliens were physically getting in my way. I think it would have been more fun to have them come from the sides or back, so they're chasing you and com...

Re: Would like feedback on STORY in the work wiki

For some reason, I thought the main antagonist in the first book was a large rat with a whiptail or something. It's been a while since I read it though, so I could be wrong. Well, yes, we have Cluny the rat, with the poison barb on his tail. In the end, the hero kills both Cluny and the snake, but ...

Re: Would like feedback on STORY in the work wiki

At one point I was a huge fan of the Redwall series, so I'm kind of a Redwall buff. The first book in the series (titled Redwall, oddly enough ;) ) has a snake as the main antagonist, and as if that's not enough, he lives in an abandoned pit mine (a sandstone quarry). I think we're trying to steer a...

Re: Would like feedback on STORY in the work wiki

I just wanted to throw in that whether or not there would be lava in the snake den could be completely unrelated to ART, but instead by LEVEL's job, because it would be a gameplay element (jump over lava, lava flows, etc.)

Re: SimpleWorld

Well, I'd like to put my two cents in on this. I tried to make an MMORPG (hasn't everyone? :P ). I wanted what you did, nothing fancy, just something me and my friends could play. Uh boy. As I soon found out, you *can't* make a "nothing fancy" MMORPG easily. Building/running even a basic MMORPG invo...

Re: Community Project: Developers

I've used Java's event managers/listeners extensively, and I've done MVC with C++ and wxWidgets. I've also done some work with CEGUI/Ogre event handling.

So I have a pretty good grasp on the concepts, but just not with C# in particular.

Re: Community Project: Developers

I'm doing HUP. This will be a big challenge for me because C# is a weak language for me right now, but I'm up for it.

Just don't expect me to have a spectacular UI prototype right off the bat :(
