I just want to say well done to everybody who entered - I've played through them all and really enjoyed this year's entries!

Re: samw3's SpeedGame: 4NR

Well done guys, love this! The music is awesome - did you write that yourselves? I guess it's a feature of it being "1-bit", but once you start to lose it's really really hard to recover. If the scary chasy veil thing was a little bit translucent at first it would be easier to recover (but then it w...

Even on a PC you can just hold ALT or CTRL or one of those keys when you click the link, it honestly doesn't make it that much harder.

Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

I've managed to get a new version of my PrayerMate iPhone prayer app out the door this week, approved by Apple this evening. I'm really chuffed with where it's got to now, so I'm going to try and spend a bit more time contacting app review websites and blogs and so on over the next couple of weeks. ...

Re: Target="_blank"

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but personally I despise websites that force links into new windows. Since it's so easy to do it myself (just use the middle mouse button to open the link, or hold down Cmd on a Mac) I much prefer being given the freedom to choose for myself, rather tha...

New: Journey of Moses

I came a cross a new little Facebook game today called "Journey of Moses" - seems really well done.

Did a little writeup for the blog - always good to see a new Christian video game

Hey there, welcome!

Glad you made it here from the blog :)

I never actually played Pajama Sam, but I've heard a fair bit about it.

What kind of development do you get up to? What's your favourite language, tools, etc?

Re: SMASHMUCK CHAMPIONS!

Cool stuff, this looks awesome! Is this the thing that the characters you've occasionally been posting in the "Talk is Cheap" thread are for? P.S. Threads like this really get killed by IRC, don't they? This is why the forum feels so dead half the time - all the regulars have already said their stuf...

Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

I'm messing around with Unity's animation editor, seeing if I can make some rather more dynamic character animations during cutscenes in Ebenezer . So far it seems to be working nicely - I've just got it wired up with a little spinning cube, but I can make the cube spin when the cutscene gets to a c...

Re: Hupakouo the Game! Play it!

It looks really fun and I'd love to try it, but I'm on a Mac (and am always a bit nervous about downloading .exe files even when I'm on windows) - is it done in your own engine? i.e. any chance at all of an in-browser version?

Re: So you want to make a Christian video game?

"More concrete" is just a figure of speech that means "less abstract" - it wasn't really supposed to be clever or anything.

So you want to make a Christian video game?

Inspired by the Christian Game Developers Conference , I've written up a (somewhat epic) essay about how to get started making Christian video games Here's a little disclaimer from the conclusion: I’m not writing this because I’ve done it all right, I’m writing this because I’ve broken just about ev...

Re: CGDC 2011

Rockin' There was definitely a great atmosphere and spirit and amongst those there at the conference; I thought it was great to have a strong emphasis on being salt & light ourselves as game developers, rather than simply on making the games themselves that have a message, so it's good to see that t...
