Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

Actually, I had a problem regardless with what FTP client I use. Turns out FTPing a .band file to a windows FTP site is for the birds. I was able to zip the files and send them that way though and it worked out fine. In the end I did use CyberDuck (which, to be honest, I was worried doing the initia...

@sam & CPU

Thanks guys, I'll try those out. I use to use Filezilla on my windows machine.

I thought it was kind of fishy for an FTP client to not be able to send files...and the solution being get into the closed beta :)

Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

My secular band Paper Anvil has the first show scheduled for 4/25! It's going to be an awesome night. We also spent out entire practice on Sunday and some time last night recording 2 of our originals (minus the vocals, 'cause the singer couldn't make it). So then I was going to FTP the garageband fi...

Re: Talk is Cheap! Post what you're working on.

The biggest issue you could run into here (up until the Silverlight integration, and only because I no zilch about that) is file permissions. Whatever directory you create the file in, you need to make sure the IUSR and IWAM accounts have full access to it. Other than that, the System.IO namespace w...

Re: story procedures?

Crap, I just finished a big long post with examples and everything and it didn't submit. I'll redo it... /sigh EDIT: Here it is! They're probably talking about Stored Procedures, especially if they're using a database connecting to a .NET application. Here at my job, we use Stored Procedures with ou...

Re: Torque 3D and Web Deployment

Hey Matt,

What happened to the GG site? I hear the community is up in arms over the changes.

I think it looks nice, but I can't make a judgement on the features missing since I wasn't really active in that community.

Re: Flash Game Payoff

JeT - I see how that would make sense on paper, but I see a lot of long run problems with that model. #1 - Your site will have to become popular. As it stands right now, if you submit a game to NewGrounds or Kon-something another, you're automatically going to get hits just for it being on the site....
