Some Art of Mine

Postby Lava » Fri Oct 31, 2008 10:14 am

Here are cartoons I drew and inked in since the last month or so...

This was a conceptualized by a friend of mine and he asked me to make my own rendition (this is the only one where a friend had the idea first).

I love the meteor one and the build your own hero.
I think you would make a great cartoonist and I'd definitely read your comics. I'd pay for them too (though only about $1 a month :P)

Wow! Those are really good! The Build-A-Hero and the meteor ones are my favorite.
Hackers are good. Crackers are bad.

duuuuuud!
Dummyland is awesome
It would be a great game
Riding on the coattails of rollercoaster tycoon
And the "for dummies" series
And in the spirit of shrek, making fun of all things disney

Perhaps as Christians, it would be "prohibit the dummies from doing dumb things"
Kind of like lemmings
The player is like a guardian angel
Sees us dummies from a heavenly perspective

But if you have a bad day in real world traffic
...well, I won't go there...

Somebody make dummyland!

Nice stuff, reminds me of Perry Bible Fellowship stuff... http://www.pbfcomics.com

Here's a couple drawings of my own for fun...
Was doin' some math some night and ended up drawing what was in my vision instead of calculating level curves etc...

Thanks to everyone for all of your compliments and encouragement for my art.

Thanks Sam! yeah that would be cool. My biggest issue with majoring in art is that alot of graphics art jobs are freelance, at least at first, so I am getting my math degree to give me a concrete schooling background, so even if I do art on the side I'll have a good background to find a stable job. But thank you for the compliment :)

Thanks Arch, that means alot. I pencil out the drawing then I use my "Micron" pens (made by Pigma) to trace a final ink drawing on a new blank sheet, which is held over the pencil drawings on my "lightbox", which I turn on to make the pencil stand out for tracing.

Wow, great work Lava. Dummyland made me laugh. I'm still laughing inside.

And CapnStank, I love the first sketch of your vision over the laptop.

Very interesting - wondering about the story behind that scene.
