there was an awesome westwood idea when they made dune 2000, which was to make a command and conquere game (also used in tiberium sun) they gave a few options of where to attack what territory. which is more like the game risk and in general a good idea to do. often though the enemies rarely counter strike or weakly counterstrike.
it would be neat to have a game command and conquere like for world war 2, have your factories in 1 spot or a few, instead of on site unit building which is rediculous, have it more realistic in that sense, train your units, and allow them to have skills, which is often forgotten by many games. it wouldnt be that hard to give each squadron and division a skill rating, when there beat up repair and resupply it. would it really be on the scale of world war 2? no, but it would be fun to control squadrons of fighters, take them from multiple locations on the world map and attack the same province, mean while the enemy is re routing his reserves to the battle. and it would be good because the outcome of 1 battle will have a major impact, it wont be like in other command and conquere games where each battle is like a fresh beggining, and the most you can lose is a territory then regroup as if nothing happened.
it would be intresting for them squadrons to return to base after the battle, if they arent obliterated or damaged they could fly more missions for you. then you could time attacks to these bomb and fighter raids.
what would be intresting is lets say you just repelled an enemy attack, and there regrouping, you could then attack or send bombing raids anywhere of your choosing.
probably be more geared to people with brains (strategy players) but others could enjoy it to?
