Perhaps stick with what we know?

Postby launcher » Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:23 pm

Take pirates its a great topic... however as christians tend to aspire to be good? in theory? pirates are the opposite, they aspire to do bad things (rape, murder and steal) basically they see the 10 commandments as a shopping or to do list. as christians i dont think most of us relate well to that, understand them... which even if we did understand them, be kind of ironic/odd? a christian site making a game about some of the greatest sinners of all time? to make such a game means we need to explore how not to live by gods word essentially... which you would think we would aim a little more posotive?

For example make a game where good is under seige from evil. where good ultimately prevails.

That's why it would be better to make a game about vikings.. Saint olaf the fat, aka patron saint of battle axes:

Or have vikings deliver christian babies to safety where they can grow up to be christian kings in charge of vikings,

Haakon I:

Haakon IV:

Or play as one of the christian kings of Norway who has to rule over pagan vikings who want to perform human sacrifices.

:P looking at these poll results sorta shows why a community game would be very difficult... way different preferences and havent even gotten into rts, rpg, fps and all the game types.

perhaps a hybrid rts, rpg?

for example lets say its a sci fi or modern era game, have 4-5 pathways, which you can possibly do, possibly not. like you get comfronted and do missions to develope 1 of 5 bomb types (cluster bomb, bunker buster, napalm, laser guided, MOAB) and you do missions to get them, possibly covert mission to get enemy plans, find such and such reseracher/scientist. certain objectives basically for the rpg aspect.
