Path Blinder - I can't get this to run in my vista even as an admin I know that the requirements are for XP maybe I'll have butter luck in that OS

Same here and I don't want to vote untill I've played everones game. I think Awakening problem is that it was using RPG maker or something and you need to install additional files, but I don't know where you can download that.

My guess is what you need is the runtime for RPG Maker which can be found here

Walk in the Spirit worked for me, but I had errors with UpRight.

Also, the download listed doesn't work for Awakening.

This is the direct link that was used to run Awakening (I had a few people test who didn't have any RPG Maker stuff installed on their computer and when they installed the RTP, they were able to run the program with no problems. What sort of error are you getting when you try to run Awakening even with the RTP properly installed?

I'm sorry menemene. 2 questions, do you have latest version of DirectX? (I'm guessing you do). And which version of windows are you on? Thanks for at least trying :)

What is the error message you are getting though?

Also, for anyone that can't get it to work... I do apologize for any troubles, and I don't expect anyone to go out of their way to help, but I sure would appreciate very much anybody who could check out
WinXP: C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%\Application Data\Walk in the Spirit\Renderer.log
Vista: C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Walk in the Spirit\Renderer.log
and tell me what's in it... you know... so I'll know for the future. If not, thanks for at least trying to run the game - we appreciate the effort very much! Sorry again for anyone that couldn't get it to work...

Any descriptions as to what actually happens when you try to run would be great too. Walk in the Spirit has really low requirements so I'm some-what suprised there's so much trouble with it. Thanks again and God bless everyone :)

Also... we couldn't get it to work on 1 computer we tested on. Turns out we had DirectX 9.0c, but it wasn't the latest version. We COULD NOT include it with the distribution because of licensing issues (you have to include the whole installer which contains every directx runtime since 2005ish - and that's around 90-100 MB), but here's a link:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

I really hope that helps! Perhaps it'll fix problems people are having with other games to with any luck huh? God bless!!!

While you're at it, this is the runtimes that practically all games will need in one way or another (it's only around 4 mb):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

The necessary files are included with our game (assuming I got the correct ones in there!), but hopefully it'll fix any "please reinstall" or "installation error" errors from any and all games submitted to this contest.

Last but not least, this site gives a quick explanation about why the correct directx runtimes couldn't be redistributed.

it's asking for a d3dx9_39.dll, I'll update directx, as it doesn't list it in dxdiag.

EDIT:
updating directx worked. Nice game! very fun! I quite enjoyed it.

I couldn't get UpRight to work either.

On XP I had the bug mentioned in the thread for that game.I did run but was glitchy(bug I noticed the most was that when you attempted to carry a block it would show the animation of picking it up without actually picking it up. It also didn't show up when you attempted to put the block down. Because of this I couldn't get far though I could see some of the intended functionality.

On vista it wouldn't start(I did get the errors that were being shown to go away by running in compatibility mode but I was still left with a blank screen).
