Zombies. 'Nuf said.

I think it really reminds me of my personal testimony, as I can remember growing up in the Zombie Apocalypse and being drawn to faith as a result of the struggle to survive. (That was a joke. Laugh.)

Actually, if by "testimony" you mean "how you got saved," my story falls into the "grew up in the church" category I've heard others mention. Pretty boring. If by "testimony" you mean "What is God doing in you, through you and around you?" then we're talking the same language. My Christian life was only boring until I heard about the miracles God is still doing in the earth and started seeing Him do them in my life. Now my testimony is real. "God did this for me, and He wants to work amazing things in your life too."

As I hear the testimony of others who are telling the amazing things that God has done for them and as I share with others around me what God is doing for me, I see the Lord's Prayer being fulfilled. God's kingdom is coming -- now. And as it does, God's will is being done on earth just as it is done in heaven. That's not boring.

I feel like I keep repeating myself for some reason every time a new speedgame blog is started... but...

This really sounds awesome! I can't wait to know more about your testimony.

And you said that you don't have access to an Internet-accessible Mercurial server -- I've had great success with BitBucket, who (unlike Github) permits closed-source repositories with just free accounts.

Nice to hear that you're using BGE -- if they have Linux binaries for the version you're using, then I'll probably be able to find a binary (or compile it myself) for OS/X, so I'm looking forward to being able to play it.

Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually followed a tutorial on setting up a Mercurial server on shared hosting without root access (in pure Python mode). It's up and running and seems to be working pretty well.

There are OS/X binaries available on blender.org. I will probably be intermitently posting .blend files if you want to keep tabs.

Well, I figure it's about time we announce the title of our game. It's a play on the name of a popular zombie game you may have heard of.

And for fun, here's an image of some prototyping I have been doing on the main menu:Image

I like how the "Play" button says "bring it."

To be honest, i feel discouraged by those pictures. It makes me feel like whats the point in me making anything when others are making that good looking stuff.

bugala, here's the point in you working on your project:

Clean3D and I have never submitted a finished and working game project to a SpeedGame competition in the past. If we finish this one by the deadline, it will be encouraging. Right now we have a fancy menu, a couple of character models and a friend who said he would do some environments for us. What we still don't have:

a player character model.
animations.
an environment.
a working game.

So please don't be discouraged. I have enjoyed your games in the past, and I hope that you submit something this year as well. I would be discouraged if our progress stopped you.
