Man that was close at the end! lol I was mashing the praise button like crazy. Great job on your first project Dylenbrivera! I really liked the dark Limbo-style environment of the game.

I wasn't able to read some of the text since it flashed by too quickly, but I was able to get the gist of what the people were saying to try to tempt the player.

You picked an interesting defense against temptation.. praise. Most people would think of prayer or faith. I like praise, but I'm curious, why did you choose it?

I have struggled over the years with lustful desires and quite honestly, being in Communion with Jesus through praise and worship is what has brought me through it. I love to praise and call out his name when I feel temptation and fleshly desires come my way. Also, having the "Resistance to Temptation" bar entirely depleted is when the game gets interesting. You don't lose the game until the second bar appears, which is called the "Faith Against Addiction" bar. The concept is that the character has a certain capacity in which he could naturally resist temptation. When his humanly resistance threshold has maxed out(Or resistance ability depleted as depicted in the game), the Lord intervenes to defend him in battle. In the game, this is depicted by an Angel battling against demons which are causing other humans to tempt the character. Once the demons have been slain, the influencing humans are then silenced. The Faith against addiction bar is the amount of faith the character has in being against addiction. The game is over when the player loses complete faith in believing that he can fight off addiction. Not sure if I was able to deliver that concept through the gameplay, but I tried my best!

Oh ok I went back and played the faith against addiction part. cool particle effects. Initially I wasn't sure what to do, but when I figured out I was supposed to click on the demons to have the angel attack them, it made sense.

I really like the idea of the Lord's intervention once all our human resistance is depleted. I think these types of situations provide some of the strongest evidence of Christ's involvement in our own personal lives. It's what makes Him real to us, and it actually strengthens our faith and praise. Powerful point you're making in the game.

Nice game. Overall, I thought it was very artistic and well done. It would look profession except for a couple things that looked like sprites were a little out of position in the background. Personally, I wouldn't have chosen the game mechanic where your reliance on God only triggers when your resistance runs out. Because I believe we need to stand in God's power initially, or we won't be able to stand.

The game itself was kind of fun. It could have had more stuff to do besides run to keep interest. Although the background and atmosphere of the game already keeps interest quite a bit. I also would have liked more levels. Since I'm talking about more and this is a speedgame competition I think that means you basically succeeded in this game.

If only we had more of this game :D

Thank you for your feedback. There is certainly more coming for this game. All future progress can be followed at my site cgdevs.org under the In-Development Category.
