Well, my TGB version of Boom is now playable, but very little more... Next is particle effects, being an essential part of the game.

But right now, I'm focusing on getting myself in tip top shape... It doesn't matter how good the first half the game is if the programmer is dead.

You can see what I've been up to lately from this blog post - mainly storyboarding my Old Testament adventure game, Ebenezer. It's really good fun, and I'm feeling really happy with how the game is shaping up!

Here are some of my works in progress (Indie Works):

No Longer Apart (NoLA)
: 2D Platform Puzzle Game for PC
http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/puzz ... apart/632/

[As the two have been apart for so long, it's up to you to bring them together. Travel through over 20 specially designed puzzles to join these two people back together. With four challenges per stage, finishing a puzzle isn't nearly enough. Test your mind!]

Exit to Strainite: Just : 2D Action Adventure for PC
http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/adve ... -just/180/

[As a troubled young man, Gregory Denton did things that would drive others crazy with guilt. Rationalized and justified in his own twisted mind, he brought it into himself to gain all the world, or to seek such... Although his reasons were not seen. Why did he behave this way?

In a flash, all was lost and he finds himself faced down in the mud far away from the city he once called home. Now where will be be? The player decides. Play through Greg's journey through the Green County and the most impactful point of his life as the Truth finds him.

Using new techniques in storytelling and gameplay settings, play through many tales and events. Each time may be different! Eat, sleep, read, fight, talk with, laugh, cry, call, and protect the people and the world he finds himself in this strange action adventure game.]

Will show you guys what commercial stuff I'm working on when ready to show though.

@mrEkli: Neat looking games! I really like the graphical styles of both of them. Did you do all of the artwork for them yourself?

@Mike: Cool website! I like the layout -- looks good, and it's easy to navigate. Looks like you're getting the hang of QT!

Thank you! Yes, I do all my own artwork... for my independent projects at least.

Decided to attempt to learn .Net 3.0, it is a lot different from the 2.0 I am used to. Upon inspection when I looked at 3.0 in light of my current project a lot of the functionality I was coding from scratch in 2.0 was built-in to 3.0 so I am converting it over as my first project. I also recently decided that maintaining backwards compatibility with systems as old as Windows 98 might not be worth it. A lot of things in 3.0 doesn't make sense right away to my 2.0 biased mind yet but I think I should be able to get used to it eventually.

My band Paperanvil spent several hours recording on Sunday. We got 5 songs tracked out and will have them up on our various websites pretty soon (I'm in the process of mixing and mastering right now). We also shot a couple of short videos inviting people to our shows. We'll be posting the videos this week too. It was exhausting but fun times! :)

Just updated the MySpace page with a new recording, working on "verification" for the music player on Facebook, and added a video invitation on Facebook to our show. We also booked another show...this makes one show a month for the next 3 months :)

I'm excited!

I don't post here as often as I should... Mostly what I've been doing is making Boom in TGB, however I don't seem to be able to get the game feeling like I want it to, which is mostly a game design issue, probably one of my biggest weaknesses now.

We've got Boom on the right railroad, it's time to keep it on the track and to accelerate.

I thought I post a old video of 8-Bit Warrior, created by Nehemius and I. This video is from a very early pre-alpha stage, which we were testing a bunch of systems.

Thanks mrEkli, we have been really expanding on the original Dragon Warrior foundation, but still keeping with the original NES tiles sizes and colors.

Here is a more recent screen-shot, it's black and white on purpose. :)
