Sorry to hear about that. I'll be praying for guidance for you guys.

I don't mean to detract from the seriousness of the situation, but it's kinda ironic that this thread, as of this writing, is immediately above Mene's "Do you need to quit your job?" thread :P.

A conversation on here spawned that one.

I have been tempted to reply on that one and just say.

Nope they beat me to it

Mike, if what I've said seemed to make you think I'm not concerned for you about your situation, then I'm sorry, that was not my intent...

Mike,

I'll be praying for you too! I remember getting food stamps and energy assistance while I was in seminary. But hang in there and you will make it through. It seems that somehow God always makes a way.

Thanks for the prayers. Still looking, My attitude is fairly good today. Janesville Wisconsin (the city I live in) just made Forbes list of 10 worst places to find a job.

Unemployement has still not started investigating my case. It's been 41 days since I lost my job - and until they finish the investigation I can't collect (It will be retroactive when I do).

Friday I got my state representative involved. So hopefully things will move along.

Tomorrow will make the longest I have even been unwillingly out of work. Not a day I am looking forward to.

After two emails to my state senator - there has been some progress. I should have unemployment resolved within the week.

I think I will apply for some education grants from the state. Since we have made the top 10 worst cities to be out of work, having a way to ride it out for a while would be nice.

Thanks for you're prayers.

I really hope and pray for quick progress on your unemployment benefits. I pray for peace as you wait to hear.

Does your local employment office offer any classes/benefits? My local office offered many beneficial classes. I looked forward to the classes and meetings, and it became a place of hope during my unemployment. Six years later, those classes have stuck with me. It is one of THE BEST uses of tax payer's money I have witnessed.

I'm wanting to get some additional education. One of the advantages to living in one of the worst cities nationwide job wise is some grant money has come in.

Am thinking about web design/ programming but as it's through department workforce development I have to get my unemployment status straightened out first. The do have classes on resumes and job hunting.
